The MRG-G2000R-1A is the first G-Shock to feature a Dura Soft Fluoro-Rubber Band. The band also features a Japanese Bishamon Kikko textured pattern on it. The band and titanium case are connected with a “L/R-Δ Loc” (L-R Delta Lock). Developed jointly with NejiLaw, this is the world’s first application of the L/R-Δ Loc which was developed for watches to prevent loosening from vibration and other forces. The clasp and the bezel are treated with a DLC coating for superior resistance against scratches. The titanium parts are treated with a deep-layer hardening process that makes their surface four to five times harder than plain titanium. The titanium case and case back are also treated with titanium carbide (TIC) to improve abrasion resistance.
This is the first time for a G-SHOCK to be equipped with a band made of soft, yet durable fluro-rubber. Perfectly supple, pleasant to the touch, while at the same time more durable. This new material creates a band that is both strong and comfortable, which is only fitting for a top-of-the-line model.

Bishamon kikko is a pattern that combines hexagonal shapes into groups of three. Since ancient times, this pattern has been used on the clothing and armor worn by Bishamonten, one of the gods of war who is the protector of Buddhism, hence the name bishamon kikko. The band of the MRG-G2000R is finished with the ancient bishamon kikko pattern, which is an apt symbol of strength for this top-of-the-line model.
Titanium material is forged and machined to create the three-fold buckle. The ends of the band are embedded in the buckle for a simple design and comfortable fit.
Titanium parts are first subjected to a deep-layer hardening process, which makes their surfaces four to five times harder than plain titanium. Next, the case and back cover are coated with titanium carbide (TIC) to improve wear resistance. The bezel and buckle are coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) for an exquisitely beautiful finish.
